The Cancer Gene Database @NitteDU is a database created under the aegis of the Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangalore, India as an online platform that provides comprehensive information about the genetic and somatic mutations in human cancer. The database is free access and the information included here are manually curated based on gene sequence information obtained from capillary or NGS sequencing. The database is a part of the cancer genetic research carried out at the University and is managed by the Nitte University Centre for Science Education and Research (NUCSER).

The main goal of this project is to create a comprehensive database on gene mutations in cancer in order to disseminate the information to researchers and clinicians working on various aspects of cancer biology including identification of novel biomarkers, deciphering molecular mechanisms and development of targeted/precision therapy.
